Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)

What is an EPC?

Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) are required by law when a house is being sold or rented. They need to be created by an approved domestic energy assessor and lodged to the central government database. Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) tell you how energy efficient a building is and give it a rating from A (very efficient) to G (inefficient). They’ll tell you how costly it will be to heat and light your property, and what its carbon emissions are likely to be.

An EPC includes basic information on what the energy efficiency rating could be if you made the recommended improvements and highlights cost effective ways to achieve a better rating.

An EPC highlights the energy efficiency improvements you could make, how much they will cost, and how much you could save. This can be useful when looking to improve your current property, or if you’re looking to buy and improve.

EPCs are valid for 10 years from the date of issue.

EPC surveys take between 50- 90mins depending on the size and complexity of the house and you cancan expect your certificate to be lodged and shared with you within 48 hours. Prices start from £60 and can be booked here.
